Off the slopes
If you prefer a more moderate ski tour, Mayrhofen is a great place to stay. There are endless possibilities in the surrounding mountain ridges. You can find tours of any length, difficulty, and danger level.
There are several starting points from which a variety of relatively easy accessible peaks can be climbed - like Hochfügen or Lanersbach. More strength and experience are needed to reach higher regions, such as the ski tours around the mountaineering village of Ginzling, which is only a 15-minute drive behind Mayrhofen.
Ascents of 2,000 meters or more, up to almost 3,500 meters above sea level - not necessarily suitable for beginners, but an exclusive experience for those who are fit enough! Some tours require an overnight stay in the year-round winter room of the mountain huts that are usually closed in winter.
