Hiking on the lower trails in the valley is not really difficult during the winter months. But what about the higher altitude paths?
Of course, you can walk on certain paths in your regular winter shoes, such as toboggan runs or those leading to ski resorts. However, with snowshoes, you can hike through deep snow to higher regions where only backcountry skiers usually venture.
Snowshoes can be rented at various local sports stores. And if you are unsure of where to go and how far to venture, you can participate in guided snowshoe hikes offered by numerous providers.
